A BOILER caused a house fire in Antrobus.

Firefighters were called to a residential property on Knutsford Road shortly after 7.30am this morning.

Crews discovered the fire had involved an oil powered boiler, which was out on arrival.

Firefighters checked the boiler with a thermal imaging camera and there were still a number of hotspots, so they remained at the scene as a precaution.

Crews from Lymm and Warrington were in attendance for around 40 minutes.
