CANCER Research UK has confirmed that this year’s Race for Life Warrington will now be held at Arley Hall.
The popular series of events is staged annually to raise money for research into cancer, which affects around 42,000 people in the north west every year.
It was due to be held at Victoria Park in Warrington on Sunday, September 12, but it has been brought forward to bank holiday Monday on August 30 at Arley Hall due to uncertainty over the race clashing with other events.
Any participants that have signed up for the event at Victoria Park will be transferred to the new date and venue.
Caitlin Holme, event manager for Cancer Research UK, said: “Even while we are still apart, we can unite against cancer.
“We would like to say a big thank you to Victoria Park for hosting Race for Life for the past few years.
“Unfortunately, due to uncertainty on when the park was due to host other events in the autumn, we have made the decision to move to Arley Hall.
“Thank to everyone at Arley Hall for working with us to provide a Covid-safe event.”
“The truth is that Covid-19 has slowed us down, but we will never stop, and we are absolutely determined to continue to create better cancer treatments for tomorrow.
“But we cannot do it alone, and that is why we need as many people as possible from Warrington to join us, to stand united and do something extraordinary to help beat cancer.”
Participants at Arley Hall can choose to sign up for the 5k and 10k events. A Race for Life Pretty Muddy 5k and a Pretty Muddy Kids event will also be held at the same venue on the same day.
