THE North West Ambulance Service has offered its condolences after a colleague died while responding to a 999 call.
Jeremy Daw, known to friends as Jack, died on Saturday morning when his ambulance was struck by an object as he responded to an emergency in Herefordshire. He was 66.
The West Midlands Ambulance Service ambulance technician, who was in the front passenger seat at the time, had only returned to WMAS in January this year, having retired as a paramedic in November 2020.
After learning about the tragedy, NWAS tweeted offering their thoughts to Jeremy's family and fellow paramedics.
A spokesman said: "Very saddened to learn of the tragic death of a colleague from West Midlands Ambulance Service while on duty and responding to an emergency call.
"Our thoughts are with our green family and the family of their colleague."
