FIREFIGHTERS remained on the scene overnight last night after a house fire in Northwich.
Six fire engines attended the property on London Road shortly after 6pm yesterday, Saturday.
Both the first floor and roof were ‘well alight’ upon their arrival.
The blaze was eventually extinguished shortly before 9.30pm, but crews remained in the area overnight ‘as a precaution’.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said last night: “The fire was extinguished at around 9.20pm and the property has been scanned using the thermal imaging camera.
“Crews will remain at the scene overnight as a precaution.
“An investigation into the cause of the fire will take place over the next few days.”
