FIREFIGHTERS from Northwich spent four hours tackling a blaze at a popular village pub.
The fire broke out in an outbuilding of the Chetwode Arms in Lower Whitley at around 5pm on Tuesday (April 20) evening.
Firefighters from Lymm and Warrington stations joined their colleagues from Northwich, who put a small cordon in place while the fire was extinguished.
A spokesman Cheshire Fire Service said: "Shortly after 5pm firefighters Northwich, Lymm and Warrington were dispatched to reports of a fire at a public house in Lower Whitley.
"On arrival at the scene the crews discovered a fire in an outbuilding.
"Two firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, entered the building and used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
"A small cordon was put in place and a covering jet was set up as precautionary measure to protect a number of nearby cylinders.
"After extinguishing the fire the crews used two hose reel jets to dampen down and a thermal imaging camera to check for any hotspots.
"Crews were detained at the scene for approximately four hours.
"There were no reports of any casualties."
