A SHOPLIFTER has been given a conditional discharge after he struck at the same Aldi supermarket in Winsford on three separate occasions.
Greg Cherry, of Stephenson Street in Northwich, pleaded guilty to all three charges of theft when appeared at Chester Magistrates on Tuesday, April 6.
36-year-old Cherry made his first visit to the Dene Drive Aldi on November 7, where he took various items with a value of £180, making no attempt to pay.
The brazen thief returned to the store just one week later, on November 14, where he again helped himself to various items, this time with a value of £105.
Cherry went back to the store for a third time on December 12, plundering yet more items, this time with a value of £123.95, with no intention to pay for them.
Magistrates took Cherry's guilty plea into account when handing him his 12 month conditional discharge.
He was ordered to pay £140 in compensation to Aldi, which meant there was no victim surcharge payment, with compensation taking priority.
Cherry will now have to stay out of trouble for the next year.
