FIREFIGHTERS climbed onto the roof of a house to tackle a chimney fire.
Crews were called to Chapel Street shortly before 7.30pm last night.
Firefighters started tackling the fire from the hearth.
A ladder was then used to gain access to the roof and water was used to extinguish the flames.
Firefighters are offering advice on how to avoid a chimney fire.
Keep chimneys and flues clean and well maintained. Make sure embers are properly put out before you go to bed and always use a fire guard to protect against flying sparks from hot embers
