A PRIMARY school in Northwich has received more than £1,000 for its playground project thanks to a 'fundraising fitness' event.
Over the course of February, two school mums and a teacher embarked on a running and cycling mission to raise money Crowton Christ Church CE Primary School.
A spokesperson for the school said: "Leanne White, along with class four teacher Kaye Russon, proposed to run 80km each, while Vicky Johnston aimed to cycle 150km.
"Not only did the ladies smash their running and cycling targets - Vicky cycled 281km -but they also smashed their fundraising target too, raising £1,300 for our primary school.
"Over the past twelve months, due to the coronavirus pandemic, our school has been unable to go ahead with many of our usual PTA-organised fundraising events, which the school heavily relies on to fund projects outside of our restricted budgets.
"The funds raised by Leanne, Vicky and Kaye will be used towards an exciting playground project planned for the summer."
