A DOG was given oxygen after being plucked to safety from a house fire in Northwich.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus went into a smoke filled terraced house in Jubilee Crescent, Winnington and rescued the animal.
No one else was inside the house when the alarm was raised at 12.15pmtoday. Crews gave the dog oxygen,
Firefighters extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets and then cleared the house of smoke using a large fan.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "The dog seemed to be well following the incident. Its owner was advised to take the pet to a vet as a precautionary measure."
Crews were at the scene for more than two hours.
