NORTHWICH Sapphires netballers have made art their goal during lockdown – and entries to their drawing competition have flown in.
Players have been supporting a ‘why we love Netball so much’ club initiative running across all age groups.
The youngsters have been getting creative and putting their artwork to the test to show just why they love the game so much. A mix of poems, carefully crafted messages for their coaches and drawings that you had to think outside of the box for, never mind the court!
Club coach Anna Dalziel said: “We will be sharing some love for the coaches and the girls, to help create a sense of positivity, in the hope that we can return back to netball very soon.
"It’s also a great way to promote the club with the local community."
The campaign is one of the many ways the club have been keeping busy in lockdown. With community netball set to return outdoors from March 29, coaches have ensured the players have stayed fit with a ‘Bee your Best’ 5km running challenge and a Benchmark workout.
Dalziel has also offered weekly Zoom fitness sessions for those who prefer to work with a coach.
For now, though, forget the netball, the Sapphires coaches have a tough decision at hand with an art competition to be judged.
