PERMISSION has been granted to convert a Northwich bookmakers’ into a new takeaway.
Khalil Rehman has secured approval from Cheshire West’s planning team to change the use of the now-vacant 37-39 Station Road, Northwich, into a pizza takeaway.
The application received no objections from neighbours, or the parish council, and has been approved by CWAC under delegated authority.
In a supporting statement to CWAC’s planners, agent Designcom said: “The proposal is for the change of use from a former betting shop to a hot food takeaway; the installation of an extraction system, no change is proposed to the shopfront.
“The proposed takeaway will be occupied by Caprinos Pizza and will operate between 11am and 11pm. The proposed store will create approximately 25 jobs. The jobs will be part time and full time and employees will be sourced locally.
“The customer service area will be located at the front of the store with WC. The cooking area, including the ‘bake and serve’ area will be in the centre of the store, as will the wash up area and cold rooms located to the rear of the building.
“A new extract duct will run from the oven through the store and terminate at a louvred grill at the rear elevation. The extract system will contain carbon filters to ensure the air expelled is clean and grease free.”
It’s understood that new signage will be applied for under a new application to be brought forward at a later date.
