A SCHOOLGIRL who is passionate about the environment wanted to do something to help businesses devastated by Storm Christoph.
Eco campaigner Grace Woodward, from Winsford, drew pictures of people holding hands and printed the images onto white mugs.
The eight-year-old Little Leigh Primary School pupil was thrilled to receive support from people all over the world.
Grace sold her mugs for £5.
Mum Marie said: "Grace doesn't like plastic and wants to change the world. I'm so proud of my daughter for being so caring, compassionate and thoughtful in wanting to help others and give back.
"She has been absolutely bowled over by the response. We have received beautiful messages from Canada, America, Spain and Japan plus random donations from people who said they didn't want a mug but thought this was a lovely thing that Grace was doing.
"Some people who ordered the mugs also sent them overseas."
Grace has raised £150 and is sharing the money between Abda speciality coffee shop in Crown Street which was wrecked by the flood, and another charity.
The business in Crown Street, Northwich, needs a complete refit after all the stock and furniture ended up under two feet of water.
Grace personally delivered the mugs and collected donations in a bucket
"Grace has worked really hard doing social distance drop offs with a collection bucket for safety," said Marie. "The support and kindness of just donations with a lovely message has been heartwarming.
We are very proud of Grace and the community we live in.
