THE number of new Covid cases in Cheshire East and West has risen very slightly in the latest daily update.
New figures from Public Health England cover the 24-hour period up to 9am today, March 2, and show that there have been 35 new cases in Cheshire East and 48 in Cheshire East.
This total of 83 new cases is a rise of 32 compared with the same time yesterday.
It brings the total number of cases in Cheshire East to 19,806 since the pandemic began.
In Cheshire West, a total of 20,710 people have been diagnosed with Covid-19 during the same period.
Infection rates in both boroughs have also gone up slightly with Cheshire East now standing at 92.7 per 100,000 people, following 356 cases reported in the seven days up to February 25.
In Cheshire West, the infection rate now stands at 95.6 per 100,000 after 328 Covid-19 cases were recorded in the week leading to February 25.
