DUNHAM Massey is now allowing dogs in its gardens from next week.
The popular National Trust site previously only allowed dogs in its parkland areas but, following a trial period, our four-legged friends can now enjoy the gardens during specific hours.
A statement from Dunham Massey reads: "Based on your feedback, from Monday, March 1, we’ll be welcoming dogs in the gardens every afternoon.
"We know that not everyone is comfortable around dogs, so the gardens will remain dog free every morning from 10am to 12 noon to ensure that Dunham Massey is accessible to all.
"If you are visiting with your dog, we continue to ask that for the enjoyment of all our visitors and to help us look after wildlife you follow some simple guidelines."
These guidelines include keeping dogs on a short lead in the gardens and deer park and picking up any waste.
Dogs should be kept under control at all times and not approach the wild deer herd.
People can walk their dog off lead in the North Park where there are no deer present.
In line with government guidance, outdoor spaces at Dunham Massey, located in Altrincham, are only open for local visitors to access for walks.
It is recommended that people book in advance.
