RESIDENTS across Cheshire are now looking forward to the end of lockdown after Boris Johnson unveiled his ‘roadmap’ on Monday.

The Prime Minister insisted he would be led by ‘data, not dates’ as he set best case scenario targets for when life can inch back towards normality.

Across Cheshire East and West, coronavirus infection rates have fallen at a slow but steady rate over the past month, although numbers have plateaued over recent days.

That is a pattern that can be seen across Northwich, Winsford, Middlewich, Knutsford and Wilmslow – where there is a mixed picture of infection rates either rising or falling in the latest figures.

The latest figures from Public Health England cover the seven-day period up to February 17, following six weeks of lockdown.

This map shows where Covid-19 infections are most prevalent in the area, with places shaded dark blue seeing higher rates of infection, compared to light green areas.

Northwich Guardian:

Areas shaded white had fewer than three coronavirus cases in the seven days up to February 17, and specific data for these locations is not provided by Public Health England.

The map is broken up into ‘middle super output areas’, which are larger than individual villages but smaller than whole towns.

While three areas had fewer than three Covid-19 cases, some saw their figures head in the wrong direction – particularly Rudheath West and Leftwich, Weaverham, and Northwich Central and Winnington.

Below is the list of infection rates in full, which from left includes the infection rate for the seven days up to February 17, the number of cases in brackets, and the data for the seven days up to February 10.

Areas shaded in bold saw their infection rate increase week-on-week.
