ANOTHER 177 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed across Cheshire East and West in the latest daily figures.
New Public Health England data covers the 24-hour period up to 9am today, February 2, when there were 85 coronavirus cases in Cheshire East and 92 in Cheshire West.
That takes the total number of cases since the pandemic began to 18,010 in Cheshire East and 18,899 in Cheshire West.
Today’s figures are lower than the numbers reported over the past three days across the two boroughs – when there were 224 on Monday, 228 on Sunday and 219 on Saturday.
Meanwhile, seven-day infection rates continue to fall across the two boroughs, according to the latest Public Health England figures.
Cheshire East’s infection rate now stands at 197.3 per 100,000 people, following 758 cases in the seven days up to January 28.
That is lower than yesterday’s rate of 199.4 per 100,000 people, 294.7 per 100,000 people one week earlier and 334 per 100,000 people a fortnight ago.
Cheshire West’s infection rate now stands at 283.3 per 100,000 people, following 972 cases in the seven days up to January 28.
That is lower than yesterday’s rate of 294.7 per 100,000 people, 376.9 per 100,000 people one week earlier and 467.3 per 100,000 people a fortnight ago.
