A FLOOD warning for two Northwich villages has been removed this morning, January 29.
The Environment Agency issued a red flood warning near the River Weaver at Acton Bridge and Weaverham on Thursday – warning that Sandy Lane and Warrington Road were again at risk.
But the warning was removed this morning, as the Environment Agency says river levels have fallen below the risk threshold in the area.
It had been issued due to rising river levels at Pickerings Cut, which peaked at 5.92m at 2am today, but water levels have since begun to fall.
An amber flood alert remains in place across the entire Weaver catchment, including Northwich and Winsford, meaning residents should be prepared for possible flooding.
River levels had also begun to rise at Hayhurst Bridge yesterday, peaking at 1.33m at 3am today, but these also appear to have begun to fall this morning.
The Environment Agency says flooding is possible when water levels reach 6.04m at Pickerings Cut and 1.5m at Hayhurst Bridge.
There is also an amber flood alert in place across the River Bollin catchment, affecting Knutsford and Wilmslow.
