ANOTHER weather warning for rain has been issued for Cheshire – one week after the devastating impact of Storm Christoph.
More than 150 residents across the county had to be evacuated from their homes due to flooding last week, including 33 residents from houseboats at Hayhurst Marina and 49 from Weaver Court care home in Northwich.
Now, the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning across the north west for 24 hours starting at midnight on Thursday morning.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: “Heavy rainfall will likely lead to some minor transport disruption and flooding.”
The Met Office is warning that residents can expect flooding of ‘a few homes and businesses’, disruption to bus and rail services, and spray or flooding on roads.
Northwich is currently forecast for heavy rain from 9pm on Wednesday night until 6pm on Thursday evening, before further heavy rain could follow around midnight on Friday morning.
There are currently no flood warnings issued by the Environment Agency for Northwich, Winsford, Middlewich, Knutsford or Wilmslow.
