THE number of people diagnosed with Covid has dropped across Cheshire West and East as infection rates continue to fall.
Latest daily figures released by Public Health England show that there have been 245 new cases confirmed in the two boroughs in the 24-hour period up to 9am today, January 24.
In Cheshire West there were 140 new cases compared to 172 yesterday and 194 on Friday.
That brings the total recorded in the borough since the pandemic began to 17, 713.
In Cheshire East, 105 new cases were recorded in the latest 24 hours compared to 124 yesterday and 157 on Friday.
Altogether the borough's total figure now stands at 17, 053.
Today's figures show there has been a total of 245 new cases in the two Cheshire boroughs since the latest data was released.
