RESIDENTS are being urged not to travel to Northwich town centre today, January 22.
Storm Christoph left its mark in town with severe flooding at London Road, High Street and Hayhurst Quay.
Cheshire West and Chester Council, police, firefighters, United Utilities and the Environment Agency have all played a part in the clean-up operation.
Road Closure Update: The closures will remain in place for at least the next few hours. There are a number of tractors assisting in reducing the water levels. The tractors are moving around the one way system. Please avoid the town centre. We will keep you updated.

With that operation still ongoing, and a number of road closures in place, police are again pleaing with residents not to try to enter the town centre.
In a post on Twitter, a Northwich Police spokesman said: "Please do not attempt to go into Northwich town centre.
"A number of vehicles have gone through the road closed signs which is dangerous.
"Town Bridge, Chesterway and London Road all remain closed.
