A MAJOR housebuilder with developments in Northwich, Winsford and Middlewich has made two kind donations to help support the towns’ foodbanks.
Mid Cheshire Foodbank and Middlewich and District Foodbank have each received £150 from Bellway to help support vulnerable families in lockdown.
Both foodbanks, which are run by volunteers, have seen demand for their services soar over the past year due to the impact of coronavirus.
These donations, totalling £300, will go towards additional food and personal items.
Rachel Pendleton, Middlewich and District Foodbank manager, said: “I have been involved with the foodbank for seven years.
“We rely on donations from individuals and businesses and very much welcome Bellway’s cheque for £150.
“In 2020, the Middlewich and District foodbank issued more than 1,500 vouchers – helping more than 5,000 people, many of whom visit the food bank regularly.
“Bellway’s monetary donation is much needed.”
Jenny Bell, sales director at Bellway, added: “With several developments in the area, including Platts Meadow in Winsford, we wanted to give something back to the local community.
“For some, the pandemic has proved to be especially tough and we know our offer of financial help to the trio of food banks will be wisely used and benefit families struggling during this difficult time.”
