CORONAVIRUS infection rates have risen across every part of Knutsford and Wilmslow, and all but three areas of mid Cheshire, in the space of a week.
New figures from Public Health England show how the current Covid surge is affecting communities across the area.
Some areas are seeing some of the highest infection rates in Cheshire – with Alderley Edge and Chelford seeing an infection rate of more than 900 per 100,000 people for the first time.
Other areas are also seeing their case numbers increase at sharp rates – such as Greenbank, where infections have quadrupled in just seven days.
The new figures from Public Health England cover the seven-day period up to January 3, the day before lockdown was called.
This map shows the areas which have the highest infection rates shaded in dark purple, while areas in blue have the lower rates.
It is divided into ‘middle super output areas’ – which are smaller than towns, but larger than individual villages.

Below are the figures for communities across Northwich, Winsford, Middlewich, Knutsford, Wilmslow and the surrounding villages.
From left to right, they include the infection rate for the week up to January 3 and the number of cases in brackets, followed by the data for the week up to December 27.
Areas highlighted in bold saw their infection rates increase over that week.
