A NORTHWICH businesswoman is using her creative skills and connections to pair beautiful things with beautiful homes.
Art gallery manager Zoe Briers has launched New Moon Collective, an art-retail enterprise which supports a whole host of artists and creators, providing them with an online platform to sell their work and a physical space to showcase their creations.
The business, which is run in the gallery above Abda Ltd in Crown Street, has grown from an idea that Zoe, herself an artist, had been ruminating on for a while.
She said: “Having worked as a gallery manager, I’ve seen first-hand what the artists I’ve showcased have needed, and the main thing is support.
“I’ve spent my whole life surrounded by creative people and over the years I’ve realised that being an artist and a businessperson doesn’t always go hand-in-hand. I totally believe artists and makers should be in their studios doing what they do best.
“The idea behind New Moon Collective is to keep artists creating, while we do the selling. Unlike Etsy and other online platforms, we do all the listings and promotions. So artists have more time to do what they love. We have customers who ask us to find things for them.
"We link people looking for something special for their home, their wardrobe, or their jewellery box with incredible artists and designers by curating and showcasing exceptionally talented creators.
While Zoe’s gallery and events space is temporarily closed due to COVID 19 restrictions, there’s plenty of work available on the website, and she’s keen to hear from artists and creators interested in selling through her platform and exhibiting in the gallery when its doors reopen.
Among New Moon Collective’s current sellers are Northwich-based mixed media artist Rebecca Yoxall, textile print designer Abby Price, Northwich graphic designer and photographer Paul Evans, digital artist Rose and Grace design, and multi discipline artist Anthony Pointon.
Zoe added: “There are so many amazing creators in this area, making beautiful and unique items, and through New Moon Collective we’re providing an outlet that supports them in their work.
“By putting everything in one place to match creators and customers, we’ve made a space where artists can sell their cool and unique creations and we’ll take care of the rest from showcasing, marketing, framing, printing, selling, and dispatching.”
Zoe has worked with local business to reach her goal, including logo and web design by Mr Oliver’s and support from Abda Ltd's owner, Abda Obeid-Findley.
