SCOTT Bakkor hit the target again to shoot Witton Albion to second place in the Northern Premier League.
His 53rd minute strike inflicted a first defeat of the season on Scarborough Athletic at Wincham Park in front of 440 spectators on Saturday.
Few chances were created by either side, even when the visitors ramped up the pressure in search of an equaliser, so 26-year-old Bakkor's clinical finishing when his chance came was crucial.
Now in his second spell with the club, after stints with Skelmersdale United, Clitheroe, Colwyn Bay, Warrington Town, Curzon Ashton, Marine and most recently Stalybridge Celtic, it was the new signing's fourth goal in four games, adding to his hat-trick in the 4-1 win at Radcliffe FC on September 26.
He had a first-half effort blocked as well as a second one on 51 minutes before he settled the contest.
He got on the end of a wonderful pass to find himself one-on-one with the Scarborough goalkeeper Ryan Whitley and he tucked the ball beneath him for the winner.

Home keeper Chris Renshaw was not called on to make a save until the 72nd minute when he fully stretched to stop a low shot from striker Ryan Watson.
Witton host Crewe Alexandra in the Cheshire Senior Cup on Wednesday, kick-off 7.45pm at Wincham Park. This tie has been rescheduled from Tuesday due to The Alex's commitments elsewhere.
