MIDDLEWICH Leisure Centre is up and running again.

The fitness and activity venue is one of four centres to be reopening across Cheshire East by Everybody Leisure tomorrow, Tuesday.

Middlewich Leisure Centre is opening in the evenings and on a Saturday for gym, group fitness classes and outdoor club sport bookings, with timings kept under review until the end of October.

Gym and group fitness classes are available to pre-book via everybody.org.uk.

Everybody Leisure is also reopening seven of its pools for public swimming tomorrow, the nearest to Winsford and Middlewich being Sandbach Leisure Centre.

Children’s swimming lessons will start to resume at these from Monday.

The other Everybody Leisure pools that open tomorrow are at Knutsford Leisure Centre, Alsager Leisure Centre, Crewe Lifestyle Centre, Nantwich Swimming Pool, Macclesfield Leisure Centre and Wilmslow Leisure Centre, with Congleton and Poynton Leisure Centres to follow on Monday.

Nearby, Nantwich Outdoor Pool is now open for pre-bookable, lane and family swimming sessions.

Guidance has been issued for those fancying a dip at one of Everybody Leisure's pools.

Swimmers need to follow social distancing and one way systems, arrive dressed ‘beach ready’ and are encouraged to follow the national swimming guidance which includes showering at home and spending minimal time in the changing villages.

All spas and sauna areas remain closed.

Meanwhile, gym sessions at the venues across Cheshire East opened prior to this week have been extended from 45 minutes to 90 minutes, while increased visitor capacity is available in some of the larger gym locations.

These decisions have been made on the basis of positive feedback from members and a star rating of 4.8/5 for cleanliness and hygiene.

Everybody is introducing more group fitness classes to meet high demand, with spaces filling fast.
