AN application to change the times businesses are allowed to operate at the Lostock Triangle Development has been submitted.
A current planning condition is that businesses can only operate between 7am and 7pm Monday to Saturday, with no work on Sundays or bank holidays.
But developers say the restriction is causing businesses to back-out of basing their companies at the site, and forcing them to take their business elsewhere.
In a letter to the borough council's planning committee, Commercial Development Projects Ltd said the ludicrous' restrictions will drive away business and cause the park to stagnate.
The triangle aims to become an international quality business park, and with most companies now working around the clock, they are asking the planning committee to lift the restrictions and grant companies the ability to work 24-7.
A decision is due to be made before the end of December.
