STAFF and residents at Lostock Lodge Care Home have been given a clean bill of health following extensive coronavirus testing.
The Lostock Gralam care home has been declared coronavirus-free after tests for the virus were completed across all 32 UK homes operated by Country Court.
Testing of all residents and staff has included both viral tests to show current infections and antibody tests, which show whether a person has had Covid-19 in the past.
And both staff and management say that they are over the moon that those living and working at the home have passed the tests with flying colours.
“Our care homes have worked extremely hard to protect our residents against the threat of Covid-19,” said Alykhan Kachra, managing director of Country Court.
“I’m pleased to say we have had no cases of coronavirus at all at Lostock Lodge throughout the pandemic.
“This is fantastic news and a credit to the hard work and efforts of our staff.
“We know this does not mean the threat of Covid-19 has ended and we will continue to remain vigilant to its potential dangers in order to keep our residents safe and well.”
All Country Court homes remain closed to visitors, however this policy is under review with a view to implementing socially distanced garden visits.
This will only be considered should infection rates in the wider community remain low.
Each Country Court care home has been provided with a tablet which has allowed residents to share video calls with relatives, loved ones and friends.
This is as well as residents receiving daily phone calls, cards and letters.
Management says that morale at Lostock Lodge remains high thanks to staff going above and beyond to keep residents happy, healthy and entertained.
Residents are currently enjoying taking part in an annual gardening competition – Country Court in Bloom – with numerous projects underway to bring colour to the care home garden.
Each Country Court care home continues to follow rigorous infection control procedures and the group has sufficient supplies of PPE to keep everyone well stocked and looked after.
