NHS England has confirmed nine more people who tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) have died in East and Mid Cheshire.
Nationally, a further 823 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 8,937.
From today's figures, four deaths occured in East Cheshire NHS Trust and five in Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The deaths at Leighton Hospital in Crewe included three that occurred yesterday and one each on the two days previous.
Macclesfield Hospital has thus far not had any recorded deaths in the last four days but has now confirmed historic cases from April 3, April 5 and two from April 6.
Across England, patients were aged between 11 and 102 years old. 33 of the 823 patients (aged between 29 and 94 years old) had no known underlying health condition.
Their families have been informed.
