THE Anderton Boat Lift half marathon scheduled for this Sunday has been cancelled.
The two-lap trail race had been set to start at 10am.
Full refunds will be given.
Graham Wood, duty manager at the Anderton Boat Lift, said: “Unfortunately, the knock on effect of the stormy and wet weather in February has resulted in a low number of entries for the Half Marathon at the Anderton Boat Lift this Sunday, March 8.
"So is with great reluctance, a decision has been made by the race organisers, Time2Run, to cancel this normally very popular race.
"All around the country, races have been impacted by the weather this year and we can only apologise to anyone who was hoping to run.
"Full refunds will be given.
"The Anderton Boat Lift will still be holding its 10K run in May for which there are strong bookings.”
