MUSIC Trains will return to the Mid Cheshire Line this summer.
Now in its twelfth season, this year's programme includes 10 public performances and five for private groups.
The events, organised and hosted by Mid Cheshire Rail Users Association (MCRUA) volunteers, are a popular fixture on the rear carriages between Chester and Manchester.
Proceedings start on Wednesday, April 24 with a Music Train from Chester to Plumley, with the fun continuing at the Golden Pheasant.
There are three guest bands – Time Bandits, Steerage Class and Full House – promoting the Chester Folk Festival on the7.01pm from Chester, returning at 10.29pm.
The 2019 programme also includes regular Music Trains from Altrincham to Chester, starting on May 22, with entertainment and sausage and mash supper at Alexanders Live in the heart of Chester.
MCRUA chairman John Oates said: "The Mid Cheshire Line Music Trains have been a great success over the last 12 years with monthly trains from Chester to Plumley picking up at Mouldsworth, Delamere, Cuddington, Greenbank, Northwich and Lostock Gralam railway stations. What could be better than listening to our great guest bands as you rumble high above Northwich on the Weaver Viaduct?"
“Then, music, drinks and eats at the lovely Golden Pheasant pub in the village of Plumley.
“We also run regular Music Trains to Alexanders Live in Chester from Altrincham picking up at all intermediary stations to Chester including Knutsford and Northwich.
“At Chester we provide a taxi to the city centre venue where you can also enjoy a sausage and mash supper.
“On all services there is music on the train in both directions.”
