LOTTERY players can take advantage of free access to the Lion Salt Works’ Victorian Christmas celebrations in December.
Anyone with a recently-purchased lottery ticket or scratch card will be able to enjoy the festivities free of charge as part of the Heritage Lottery Fund’s ‘Thanks to You’ initiative.
The offer is valid 10.30am to 5pm from Tuesday, December 4 to Friday, Decembre 9 at the works museum in Ollershaw Lane.
In 2011, the Lion Salt Works Museum received a £5m grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, which together with £5.2m from Cheshire West and Chester Council, funded a four-year, £10m restoration of the site. The Museum reopened in 2015.
The Victorian Christmas celebrations will feature reindeer, steam engines, Father Christmas and a vibrant community Christmas market.
On Saturday, December 8 from 1.00pm to 3.00pm, carol singers from the Rivendell Choir will be spreading Christmas cheer, while Sunday, December 9 at 1.30pm sees a festive performance by the Middlewich Bell Ringers.
