A BOY from Acton Bridge had his Christmas in hospital brightened up by a visit from the creator of Bob the Builder.
Ryan Carthy, 10, was staying in the children's ward at Warrington Hospital when Curtis Jobling, who also created Ra-Ra the Noisy Little Lion, came along to decorate the wall with a cheery mural.
Curtis drew Bob the Builder and Ra-Ra at the entrance to the ward and visited the patients.
The 42-year-old said: “I was thrilled to be able to call in at the children’s ward.
“It can’t be a fun time to be in hospital but when is?
“Hopefully the sight of my jovial face and the doodles I provided will help make the children’s stay that bit less stressful.”
Matron Jane Scott thanked Curtis for his visit.
She said: “It was lovely to welcome local star Curtis to the ward and for him to do a bespoke design on the entrance of B11 – it is fantastic and we love it.”
