PIONEERS A’s unbeaten record in the Crewe Liberal Cub Open League Premier continued with a 7-1 defeat of Nantwich Rd Aslef.
They were led by captain Pete Boughey, who hit 14 and 18 dart legs, and Lee Moffat with an 18 darter – Aslef’s only winner was Joe Wilams with a 16 dart leg.
Cosey Club lie in second place, already eight points adrift despite a 6-2 win at Cheshire Cheese. Craig Smith hit an 18 dart leg while Dave Jenkin hit a 180 for Cheese.
Carl Dennell, 15 darts with a 127 finish, Dave Bickerton, 15 darts, Chris Townsend, 18 darts and a 180, and Andy Pitt, a 180 maximum, were all in form for current champions Westend Lmr B in a 6-2 victory over Kings A, for whom Daryll Taylor hit 19 darts and Gary Wilkinson a 180.
Newly promoted Delamere registered their first top flight victory, 6-2 against Vine A, thanks to Tom Kelly’s 15 and 19 darts, Arron Russell’s 16 and 20 darts and 180s by Tom Kelly and Steve Lowe.
In Division One, Oddfellows with a 6-2 win over Hop Pole A went one point ahead of Brunel A, who only managed a 5-3 victory against Amalgamated A.
Top darts performers were Dav Coyne(Oddies) 16 darts, White Lion F/lane pair Steve O’Neil and Alan Bostock both hit 17 darts, Gary Talbot(Oddies) 18 darts, Dan Downey(Pioneers B) 18 and 19 darts and Mick Whitfield a 180 maximum.
Top checkouts were Ron Threadgold (Mals A) 125, Matty Hamilton (Nantwich Rd A) 119, Chris Owens(Oddies) 104, Rob Caine (Brunel A) 103.
Ken Greenhall, 15 darts, Ryan Proctor, 17 darts, and Paul Byrne, 18 darts, were the players in form as The Imp increased their lead to nine points at the top of Division Two after a 6-2 victory against Express.
Nearest rival Amalgamated B could only manage a draw against visitors Bridge A for whom Jamie Hawkins with 17 darts and Gary Hawkins with a 180 were in top form.
Horseshoe’s 7-1 thrashing of Rising Sun A enabled them to jump level with the Mals on equal points. Sydney Arms pair Adam Perkiss 19 darts and Rob Paine with a 180 were also in form.
In Division Three, Willaston Club take over at the top following a 7-1 trouncing of Captain Webb while previous leaders Swan & Chequers went down to a shock 5-3 defeat at Nantwich Rd B, for whom Kev Felton hit a 180 maximum.
Prince of Wales A are the new leaders in Division Four with a lead of two points after crushing the previous leaders Rising Sun 7-1, who now drop to third as Duke of Bridgewater C move into second spot after a 5-3 win over visitors Brunel C.
Division Five’s Prince of Wales D hold onto top place despite a 5-3 defeat at the hands of Coach & Horses, who leap into second place two points adrift.
Hop Pole B drop to third after being held to a draw by Dishers A.
