A BURST water pipe on the A54 in Winsford has caused homes across the town to be left without a water supply.
The incident follows a separate burst water pipe that United Utilities were working to fix outside the Police HQ last week.
Pupils at the E-ACT Academy have been sent home because of the burst.
Willow Wood Primary, Over St John’s Primary and St Chad's Primary are also closed.
The road has been closed because of flooding and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
The 54 Oakmere Road is closed from Over Square roundabout to Woodford Lane Industrial Estate.
A diversion is in place via the B5074 Delamere Street.
Households and businesses across Winsford, including the Lifestyle Centre and Woodford Lodge are affected by low water pressure.
Residents have reported water being off from 5am.
United Utilities engineers are on the scene attempting to fix the burst.
A UU spokesman said: “Our team of engineers have arrived on site and repairs will commence as soon as it is safe to do so.
“We’re sorry for the trouble this may be causing you and we will get your taps flowing normally again as quickly as we can.”
