A CRICKET club is £1,000 better off thanks to a house builder at a Davenham development.

Davenham Cricket Club received the donation from Bloor Homes, which is currently building The Meadow, off Green Lane, The money will go towards new training equipment for junior teams.

Bob Floyd, chairman of Davenham Cricket Club, comments: “Running a sports club can be incredibly expensive, so we’re delighted to receive this contribution from Bloor Homes. "The money will make a big difference to the training of our junior players and it’s fantastic to have a local business on board.

“As The Meadow is located near to the club, many of our members live at the development.

"We’d love any new residents to come along and join the club.”

The cricket club is based on Hartford Road and has four adult teams and five youth teams.
