THREE Middlewich women who set up their own business after being made redundant from the Co-operative Travel are now celebrating a successful first year in the town.
Andrea Jones, Lynsey Bills and Joanne Lightfoot worked at the Co-operative Travel together on Wheelock Street before being made redundant when the shop was due to close.
The trio decided to set up their own travel shop on Wheelock Street across the road from where the Co-op was and have now reached a full year of business.
Andrea said: “We were made redundant from the Co-op so we brought ourselves over here and brought our customers with us and they have stayed with us for a year.
“We’ve had plenty of new customers as well and we wouldn’t be anywhere without them all.
“We just want to thank them for all their help because our first year has gone brilliantly for us, it has been a lot better than we expected to be honest.”
