CREWE has lost out in a bid to become the home of a new HS2 College.
Cheshire East was shortlisted as part of a Manchester-led bud to home the new facility, which will provide specialist vocational training to the next generation of engineers working on the high speed rail line.
Instead, the Government has opted to site the National College for High Speed Rail in Birmingham and Doncaster, offering up to 2,000 apprenticeship opportunities for local people.
