ANOTHER season of meetings and activities are under way for the Northwich Welsh Society following the AGM held at the Castle Community Church schoolroom at which the principal officers were re-selected.
They are: chairman Neil Evans of Winsford, vice-chairman and secretary Wynne Jones of Cuddington, treasurer Anthony Masson of Knutsford, and PRO Gwili Lewis of Castle.
The society will continue to be associated with Wales International, an organisation which links with other societies worldwide.
The programme for the new season includes talks, a members’ evening, a quiz night, a daffodil walk in the Whitegate area, a visit to a Dylan Thomas evening at Y Stiwt, Rhosllannerchrugog, and the annual dinner on St David’s Day.
Visits to the National Eisteddfod in Mid Wales will be arranged as well as the colourful International Music Eisteddfod at Llangollen.
Members will again join the congregation of the Castle Community Church on Monday, December 15, for the annual Christmas carol service.
Individual members had submitted their personal comments in reply to S4C’s research into the number of viewers of Welsh language TV programmes, and appreciation was expressed for the coverage given by the Northwich Guardian.
A warm welcome awaits new members.
