IT was a case of ‘whisky galore!’ for Winsford cancer campaigner, Gary Steele, last weekend.
Ahead of a prostate cancer screening event in Northwich next week, the chair of Leighton Leighton Hospital Prostate Cancer Support Group staged a special event backed by Grouse Whisky.
The world famous Highland distillery got behind Gary’s Cheshire fun bowling competition on Sunday – supplying prizes as well as a trophy for the winner of the contest.
The Leighton Group’s next prostate cancer screening event will be at the Gladstone Club in Northwich on Tuesday, October 7.
The event has been sponsored by mayor of Northwich, Alison Gerrard, who has chosen the Leighton Group as one her official mayoral charities for the year.
As well as organising regular PSA screening events, the Leighton Group lobby Government for greater testing on the NHS.
Gary’s work massively expands the current treatments available on the health service – offering PSA testing to a wider age range, with the offer of further expert testing if required.
To book a screening test at the Gladstone Club between 7-10pm next Tuesday, call Gary on 01606 553097.
Individuals or businesses hoping donate, or sponsor future test events should also contact Gary on the number.
