A MIDDLEWICH resident is furious after he claims an unsurfaced road close to The Green housing development site caused his car tyre to explode.
Peter Ridgway, who lives nearby to the site on Rushton Drive, says his daughter Emma, who lives on The Green, was driving his car through the unfinished housing estate when his tyre burst due to the state of the unsurfaced road.
Peter says the same thing happened to his daughter’s new neighbour, who got compensation from housing developers Persimmon Homes, but says his approach to the company has been snubbed.
Peter said: “I’ve contacted them about it to ask for a reimbursement but they just don’t get back to me.
“They left that site unfinished and the road unsurfaced and as a result the curbs are about 10 inches high instead of four and I had to pay £63 for a new tyre because of that.”
Persimmon Homes were unavailable to comment at the time the Guardian went to press.
