A WINSFORD band that’s become a favourite of Smith’s legend, Johnny Marr, has been invited to play at an industry showcase by Creation Records mogul, Alan McGee.
Shakedown Stockholm were recently introduced onstage by Morrisey’s former songwriting partner in Manchester, and have now been handpicked to play at a special gig by the man who signed The Jesus and Mary Chain and Oasis after seeing the Winsfordians on a video clip.
The seven-piece act, fronted by dual female singers – and twin sisters - Davina and Joanna Kettle will perform at the District Club Liverpool during Creation Sessions at 8.30pm on Friday, October 3.
“We’ve got lots of gigs lined up all over the northwest over the next couple of months but this one is extra special,” said Davina.
“We will be showcasing new songs and have been busy in the recording studio recording them. The will be ready for download next week.”
