PROUD pupils at Oak View Academy are celebrating after starting the school year in smart new uniforms and transformed classrooms.
Students returned from their summer holidays to find their school had undergone a dramatic makeover and were delighted to enter their new year groups – each named after a type of tree, all the way from ‘Acorns’ preschool to ‘Oak’ in Year 6.
Each of the children received a free-of-charge uniform from North West Academies Trust, the organisation behind the academy-conversion of the primary school in April.
Headteacher, Fiona Rimmer, said:“We are thrilled with how smart Oak View pupils look in their uniforms, but more importantly they are very proud of how they look and are taking a great deal of pride in their appearance every day.
“But the new uniform is just one element of a whole culture of change that the school has undergone. Oak View’s school motto is Believe, Expect, Succeed and every decision we make on behalf of our pupils has this at heart.”
New features at the school include a free breakfast club, smaller class sizes, an extended school day, additional extra-curricular activities and on-site wrap around care.
