IN CELEBRATION of Older People’s Day this October, Age UK Cheshire will be opening its doors and inviting people to celebrate active ageing.

Taking place at Castle Community Centre on Monday, October 1 from 1pm to 3pm, Age UK Cheshire will be offering information and advice on its full range of services. It will also be officially launching Friends of Age UK Cheshire, the membership group which offers fantastic discounts on a range of products and services. The first 20 to sign up on the day will receive free membership. Age UK Cheshire will also be welcoming children from Witton Church Primary School, who took part in a recent intergenerational activity with the charity. The schoolchildren will be showcasing some of their work, which they did alongside their grandparents, which was based on school time memories.

In the main hall, there will be seated exercise classes and music from a local ukulele group, whilst in the computer suite, Age UK Cheshire’s volunteers will be offering interactive computer and tablet demonstrations. They will also be able to offer IT advice on buying the right IT equipment and can even help with setting it up – don’t forget to bring your tablet with you.
