TWO hundred Middlewich children were awarded their medals and certificates after completing their Summer Reading Challenge.
The children were presented with their medals and certificates by PCSO David Jinks at Middlewich Library on Friday, September 19.
The challenge, which was run by the library as a way to encourage reading to young children, was for school children to read six books throughout the summer holidays.
Around 200 children from schools around Middlewich managed to beat the challenge and turned up to receive their reward, however a lot of the children even managed to go one further and read many more.
As well as the reading challenge, the library also held various creative competitions such as a short story and a book review competition.
Olivia Andrzejewska was rewarded for winning the short story competition with her story The Garden Gnome, and Emilia Cann wrote the winning entry for the book review competition.
