CROWDS flocked to the Municipal Square in Crewe on Saturday to watch popular town musician Tom Seals perform a concert with his band.
Currently halfway through his first full UK tour, Tom brought his band to town to entertain townsfolk with a free gig.
Said to be 'quite possibly the future of jazz and pop music', the 21 year old pianist has enjoyed tremendous success over the last few years, working with an array of familiar names, including Beverley Knight, Daniel Bedingfield, Tony Christie, Steve Brookstein, Joe Stilgoe and Dame Cleo Laine. His debut album, released in 2013 spent four months in the UK blues charts, with two tracks from the album making the top 10.
The Tom Seals 'Let The Good Times Roll' Tour is a 28 date UK tour, which will see him and the band play the length and breadth of the UK, with shows in Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Bristol, Southampton, London and many more!
Tom was backed by his band – Nick Bayes, from Crewe on bass, Lawrence Giles on drums and Jamie Bannister on saxophone.
The concert also featured support sets from up-and-coming local talent Oli Ng and Thom Walker and Jordan Cope.
Tom said: "The tour is going really well, we've played some packed out venues so far and have had some brilliant shows! The Crewe gig was one of the best too – the atmosphere on the square was brilliant and it was great to see so many people there to enjoy the music.
"Big thanks from me and the band to Crewe Town Council for arranging the event, and to the guys from Blitz for the sound and staging. Thankfully the weather was kind to us, it was a brilliant afternoon!"
Tom and the band will be playing again locally soon, with the closing date of their tour taking place at The Studio (formerly Gregory's Nightclub) in Nantwich on Friday , October 3.
