THE much-anticipated Middlewich Music event The Bear Witch Project took place on Saturday with organisers saying it went far better than expected.

The Bear Witch Project was the first of many planned events to come with the aim being to lead to a music festival next year.

And with the success of the first event at The White Bear on Saturday, September 20, founder Adam Roberts says the stage is now set for bands in Middlewich.

Adam said: “You always worry that nobody will turn up and I thought we might only get a handful of people in the afternoon and get busier in the evening but it was constant all day.

“We would have loved to do the festival at the Football Ground this year but you have to start small and now we have a good base to build from now with a core audience.”

The event started at 2pm and went on until around 11pm with headliners Ghost Town Heroines closing the show.

Adam is now looking to do several gigs in the town leading up to Christmas and is always looking for new Middlewich bands.
