MIDDLEWICH Cycling Action Group joined cyclists from all over Cheshire East in a picnic cycle event.

The event, was organised by South East Cheshire Cycle Action Group and aimed to promote the group’s cycling map of the area.

Each Cheshire East town organised their ride to the picnic at Brereton Heath, with the Middlewich cyclists starting from the Boar’s Head.

David Williams, Co-ordinator for Middlewich Cycling Action Group, said: “We had a wonderful day, the sun shone and everyone enjoyed themselves.

“This was the first of what we hope will be many events to help promote cycling in Middlewich and across Cheshire East."

There are just two Wobbly Wheels rides left before the clocks go back, on the first and third Sundays of October, 5th and 19th, meeting at 2pm.

Each event has two rides, either 10 or more than 20 miles, starting and finishing at the Boars Head.

Rides are on quiet country roads and off-road cycle paths and run by trained leaders.
