MIDDLEWICH was recently named as the fourth most desirable postcode in the country with one of the main deciding factors being crime statistics.
However, recent statistics show that Middlewich is still falling well behind neighbours Holmes Chapel in regards to crime levels.
The latest statistics on ukcrimestats.com show that there were 81 crimes reported in Middlewich in July this year, whereas there were only 24 reported in Holmes Chapel.
The majority of the crimes reported in Middlewich in July were anti-social behaviour with 46 falling in that category.
Ten of the offences fell under violent and sexual offences while 10 thefts were also reported throughout the month.
