THE executive principle of Winsford Academy’s new sponsor has said the school’s new structure will help ‘transform the outcomes’ for students.
The Fallibroome Academy was invited to take over the sponsorship of the school by the Department for Education, following the withdrawal of the E-ACT chain in February.
Winsford Academy has now joined with the Macclefield-based Fallibroome Academy – which was rated ‘outstanding’ in its last three Ofsted inspections and achieved the best GCSE outcomes in Cheshire East in 2014, with 82 per cent of students achieving the benchmark of 5+ A*-C grades with English and Maths.
Fallibroome’s executive principal, Peter Rubery, said: “We were very pleased to respond positively to the DfE’s invitation to sponsor the Winsford Academy.
“I have visited schools all over the world and the keys to success are very clear: strong values, a commitment to teacher training and a clear understanding of how to create the conditions for effective learning and personal growth.
“We recognise these qualities in the Winsford community and I have no doubt that the association with Fallibroome will help transform the outcomes for Winsford Academy students.”
The two high schools are joined by two primary schools in Macclesfield to form the Fallibroome Multi-Academy Trust.
Winsford Academy principal, Andrew Taylor-Edwards, said: “We are delighted to join the Fallibroome Multi-Academy Trust and work alongside such a highly regarded school.
“The Winsford Academy is an impressive school which is enjoying the benefits of a remarkable new build. Our association with Fallibroome will bring expertise as we strive to further realise the huge potential in our students.”
