CHESHIRE Fire and Rescue Service is giving older people the opportunity to see behind the scenes at the Service headquarters in Winsford.
As part of Ageing Safely Week, people aged 60 or over are invited to come and see what the service has to offer, and pick up some vital safety messages at CFRS’ Sadler Road HQ.
Head of prevention and protection, Keith Brooks, said: “This is a great opportunity for us to engage with older people and make sure they take away some important fire safety advice and information.
“They can come along to our headquarters and have a great day finding out about what we do, having a tour of the building, and watching some dramatic live rescue demonstrations to name but a few things.
“People aged 60 and over are often still very active and live in their own homes. We offer a lot of help and support through our home safety assessments to make sure they can continue doing this safely and this event is another way of us communicating that valuable information, but also an interesting and exciting opportunity for people to get an up close look at what we do.”
The event between 10am-3pm will include a chip pan fire and live rescue demonstration, vintage and modern fire engines on display, a tour of the HQ including the hi-tech training facilities and a complimentary lunch.
If you or an older family member would like to attend, register your interest by emailing events@cheshirefire.gov.uk or calling 01606 868290.
